After taking a look at the boarding process, I finally got a good look at the ship and let me tell you it is massive. The ‘Oasis of the Seas’ was twice the size of the other cruise ships that were in port. The ship has 18 decks and the length of the ship is equivalent to three football fields. Walking from one end of the ship to the other takes a little bit of time.
After marveling at her size, I finally got a chance to board the ship and take a tour. What impressed me most about the ship is that Royal Caribbean did a great job of disguising the sheer size of the ship. Their neighborhood design of the ship really gives you a sense of being in a small suburb instead of being in a large city. There are many dining choices to choose from, some free with the price of the cruise, others that are not, but it is nice not being tied down to a couple of different dining choices. Their ‘ Vitality Spa’ and fitness center is the size of a normal gym and the fitness equipment is top-notch. Other great amenities include, the ‘Flowrider’ surfing pool for the water enthusiasts, 2 rock climbing walls, a zip line that goes across the Boardwalk, ice skating, “aquatheater” on the back of ship and many other activities that will keep you busy while at sea.
‘Oasis of the Seas’ also has many different room categories, 37 to be exact, so there are many different options to choose from. I really enjoyed the tour of the ‘Oasis of the Seas’, it truly is a magnificent ship. Hopefully, the next time I see her will be on a cruise and not just a tour.
